Online Simulation: Pearson r and Restriction of Range

This Java applet allows one to investigate the impact that restriction of range can have on Pearson r.

The simulation and its associated questions can be used as either homework assignment or as an in-class activity for those classes with access to computers with Internet connection. It can also be used easily in courses that utilize a course management system. Students can work either in pairs or individually as they run the simulations and answer the questions.
